What do an adrenaline junkie, rhino conservation and the Guinness World Book of Records have in common? A plan to help raise funds for Project Rhino KZN of course.

Jacques Kennedy is planning to break a world record by bungee jumping 110 times in 9 hours from Orlando Towers in Soweto, Gauteng. The current record is 107 jumps in 9 hours.

Asked why he wants to take on this seemingly impossible challenge, Jacques responds: “I think most of us are aware that rhino’s are in serious trouble in South Africa. Everyone says what a terrible situation it is, but most people don’t actively get involved. I really feel that I want to contribute meaningfully towards rhino conservation.” As for bungee jumping, Jacques describes himself as an ‘adrenaline junkie’.

This obviously represents an enormous challenge. The costs alone require a great deal of funding and having the Guinness Book present is an extremely expensive exercise. To support the fundraising initiative, Jacques is looking for sponsors. As he explains: “Sponsors can decide which rhino conservation programmes they would like to support through their donations.”

The project hopes to raise R3 million for the organisation.
